We had almost 7/10″ of rain Saturday morning. I think the pasture grass grew 3 inches after that!
Another 1/10″ this morning. What an unbelievable summer for the pastures!
Our neighbor and I chatted for a little while this afternoon. Talked about what it would have been like if we had fertilized our pastures last Spring. We would definitely had to find some one to bale our grass for us!
I also told him if he wanted to get rid of one of his #13 heifer he can throw her over the fence anytime! What a pretty thing she is. 🙂 I will have to remember to get a good photo of her sometime.
Meanwhile, our cattle continue to grow, the calves up and out, the cows OUT for the most part. Some of those nursing calves could use a few pounds. Those not could stand to lose a few pounds! Willy, he is lean from working in the continuous heat. Hopefully all the girls are pregnant now and his job done for a few months.
