Misty morning walk.

A rare Thursday off this week. It rained pretty hard yesterday, over an inch, so things were pretty soggy this morning. And misty. But my walk was still the highlight of my morning. Hoodie weather! I LOVE the Fall!

These are just some random shots from around the yard and pasture.

The pumpkins I made with the grandkids and Phillip, his is the smiley face 🙂 .

The fig was the first I picked off the bush I planted in the Spring. There are only 2. All the rain made that ripe fig burst! It was delicious!

Rose, crazy dog, loves the bulkhead. Reminds me of that old kids song lyric, “Slide down my cellar door”.

One of our Spring heifers was visiting the neighbor’s Fall heifers.

Lots of Cactus pears this year. Those remind me of the assortment of fruit my grandma always had on the Thanksgiving table. She bought all kinds of in season unusual fruit. There were pomegranate, big persimmons, and cactus pears along side the usual apples, pears and grapes.

Raccoon prints in the mud near the old barn have me thinking they are probably enjoying the grain I have out in the creep feeder for the smaller calves!

Well, things to do. Days off are rarely days off!
