It was a day for discoveries!

I headed out to get some butterfly shots where I had seen a bunch a couple days ago. On the way I found the most beautiful bright pink wild flowers in the pasture! Seeing as Phillip was planning to brushhog I took a chance and transplanted one of them to my back flower bed. Not sure if it will make it or not, but seeing as it was going to be mowed down anyway I thought it was worth a shot.

Next I saw a 5 lined skink. I have seen plenty of these lizards when they are young and have a blue tail. I rarely have seen an adult. According to the lizard pamphlet from Missouri Conservation, this guy would be an adult male.

Once I reached my destination, the area of so many butterflies the other day, there were none. I got back to the house to find a couple in the driveway.

The Blue birds and sparrows fought earlier this year for right to the blue bird house Phillip had put up. So we added another. Both ended up occupied by bluebirds. Sparrows are now taking their turn in one. The babies are adorable. It only took once for them to realize I am not their mama. Now when they here me they crouch down and remain silent.

Then we have the LARGE spider I saw in the barn and a not so good photo of butterflies I found in another area.

All these wonderful things and this is a weekend the grandkids did not sleep over!
